The recreational playground provided throughout the hills of Ithaca and much of upstate and western New York have finally produced a New York based fly fishing company and rod manufacturer. Ithaca Rod Co. will begin production beginning Feb 10, 2009.
Designed through years of dredging beneath the many misting falls, and the fly fishing paradise they create, Ithaca Rod Co.'s premium rods are designed and built enkeeping the historical and sporting excellence which surround the region, following in the footsteps of Ithaca Gun Co., Ithaca Rod Co. hopes for success and regional support throughout the Northeast to welcome a new high quality rod manufacturer.
The quality of high dollar rods of the likes of Scott, Orvis, and Sage for up to half the cost---Sounds like they may be on to something?
Made of high modulous graphite (36T-46t), high grade wooden reel seats, AAA Portuguese cork half well grips, and titanium 2-foot guides, Ithaca Rod Co.'s philosophy is simple---High quality rods at a better than fair price (9' #5, 4 piece rod $139 including aluminum rod tube), these rods are something to be excited about.
Accompanying the first rod offerings will be a line of high quality aluminum fly boxes, flies, rod tubes, high quality cnc cut aluminum fly reels, and fishing apparel. Pictures of the offerings will be available after first manufacturing run Feb 10, 2009. Website under construction now, pictures will be added as soon as available.
